"Why
is it I get the strangest urge to rip those clothes
from your body and see what's hidden beneath all
that black?” She ran a finger along his lapel. “Yet,
at the same time, I want to vomit at your feet.” |

He looked up and saw the
beauty in front of him. Her face was so delicate,
and her eyes, that golden brown, were so big and
innocent. He wanted her more than he wanted to
breathe. |

His mouth was fierce;
his hands roamed over her. She prayed that no one
needed the elevator anytime soon. He drove her wild
kissing her, touching, and when he thrust his hips
against her, she knew he was just as keyed up as she
was. |

you will plant that sweet, tight ass back on my lap

Trinity pressed her foot harder, the
razor blades cutting into the vampire’s neck.
His arms flailed out, trying to yank her foot
away from his neck. His legs kicked wildly, but
Trinity had a good ten pounds on the scrawny
vamp. Tilting her toe downward, she sliced deep
into his neck, finally cutting his head off. In
a whoosh he disintegrated into a pile of dust,
his last breaths used to scream his way to death |

“Remind me again why I
have to be the bait?”
Dante heard Jonah’s voice in his ear as he hid
behind the dumpster. Lowering his voice, he
replied, “Because I was bait last time.”
“Right. You’ll tell Ariel I love her if I don’t
make it?”
“You’ll be just fine, Jonah. I’ve got you
covered and Basil is lurking about, ready to
jump in and snatch the bastards. Just stay
calm.”

There was blood, all
around him, pools of it, teasing him, calling to him, and all he
wanted was to drink it. The scent of it, like strong copper, filled his nostrils
and tantalized his tastebuds. He wanted it more than life itself. “Jonah? Are you okay?” “Please, stay away from me.”
She stepped up beside him and he could hear her blood rushing through
her veins, her heart as it pounded in her chest. With each whoosh
his body responded. |

"You wanna unfreeze me
now?""Right, because I look stupid."
"Well—"
"Don’t."
"You walked into it, toots."
She narrowed those big, brown eyes at him.
"Don’t call me that. If I let you go the first
thing you’ll do is jump me and bite my neck."
"Doesn’t have to be the neck and I’d probably do
more than just bite you." |

"I love you with all my
heart, Gabriella. Today, we will be one
forever."
Her body pulsated with the orgasm that rippled
through. As she arched her back, crying out with
her release, he lowered his mouth to her neck.
When his own release burst free, he penetrated
her neck with his teeth. "Cooper…no!"

The scent of blood permeated the air, tingling
his senses. “Taste him.” The arm was shoved
towards his face and though inside Dusty
cringed, his tongue slid out to sample. “Good,
now find him. Run, kid.” The young boy was
released and he ran as if his life depended on
it. It did.
“Whatcha waitin’ for, Destroyer. Go get him.”
“What?”
“Get him.”
“You want me to chase him?”
“Yep. You taste his
blood and should be able to smell it as you go
on your search. Come on, Destroyer, earn your
name.”

"What? You’ve never seen a vampire before?"
"A what?"
"A vampire."
"I heard you. I thought I’d seen it all, but I guess not. Now we’ve got
junkies playing vampire," The detective chuckled
with a shake of his head. One look at the guy
told her he was serious.
"Oh jeez, he’s a virgin," |

"What is that?" "Your
enemy." Taking her hand in his, he led her to
the dummy. "Meet Buster." "Buster?" "He’s here
for you to beat on." With her brow lifted,
Deborah replied, "Come again?" "I can feel you
hesitating when I’m teaching you self defense. I
know it’s because you don’t want to hurt me, so
this is my solution. Today, you’ll put
everything you’ve got into Buster. Now, go get
changed so we can get started." "You want me to
pound on this rag doll?" "I do indeed. He can
take it."

Standing on a ladder stood a man in tight
cut-off jean shorts and nothing more. His body
was bronze and rippling with muscles.
Sweet heavenly God, the man was magnificent.
“Ex—” She cleared the lump in her throat.
“Excuse me.”
Oh, baby,
look at those muscles bunch as he moves.
“Hi.”
“Hey.”
“I’m your new neighbor.” And hadn’t she hit the
jackpot with him. Who could ask for a better
neighbor than a god like that? “Cassie Evans.”
“Welcome to the neighborhood, Miss Evans.”

“Officer, oh, officer. I need your help.”
“Is there a problem, Mrs. Dunbar?”
“Yes, yes, oh, dear.”
“Just relax, Mrs. Dunbar. Take a deep breath and
tell me what’s wrong.”
“It’s Mr. Jingles, he’s stuck under the tree.”
“Okay, just relax. Was he conscious when you
left him?”
“Oh yes, and yelling his head off.”
“Okay, that’s good. What part of him is under
the tree?”
“His tail.”
He paused not just in step, but thought as well.
“Come again?”
“His tail. I heard him crying, so I went out to
see where he’d gotten
to, and I found him stuck
under the tree.”
“His tail?”
“Yes,” she said with exasperation, leading him
to the back of the house. “See.”
One look and Vic wanted to curse out loud.
“That’s a cat.”

“Constable Healy. Beth?”
“Justin?”
“Yeah, it’s me. Jesus, look at you, all copped
out. Holy hell, look at you.” He swiped the hat
off her head and whistled as all that blond hair
tumbled free.
“Give me back my hat, Justin.” She yanked it
from his grasp.
“You look incredible.”
“I see you haven’t changed much. Still breaking
the law.” She pulled out her pad and began
writing.
“What is that?”
“A ticket.” She snapped it off and held it out
to him. “Slow down.”
“Funny.” He tore it in half.
“You can’t rip up a ticket.” She proceeded to
write out another one.
“Give me a break, Beth.” He took the second one
and repeated his action with the first.
“Fine, have it your way.”
She pulled out her handcuffs, and he looked down
at them. “What the hell are you doing with
those?”
“Cuffing you. You have the right to remain
silent—”
“You can’t be serious.”
